Remember the time when you first got a Atari? Well, technically, I do not remember. Heck, I didn’t even know it was called an Atari. Anyways, Remember the dawn of gaming? Now, remember when you had your first cell? I bet you call and received messages. Eventually, you even text. I bet you hardly remember games being on there. I did. I remember when my dad had a cell phone. It wasn’t a big name cell, it was one of those paid as you go things. He use to give me the phone so I can play that snake game on it. I thought it was so cool. Then I got my own cell a year or two after that, then realize I had to pay :(. I guess, that’s what I have to get use to when things become popular.
As mobile gaming got popular, more devs decided to step up to the plate. Now, we have to pay for anything dealing with games. Luckily, we have Blackberry, Apple, Android phones that have free game apps that we can play. With the release of Angry Birds, I wonder how much time people actually spend on their cell just playing games.
This market is taking off like the baby boom era(Almost). Although it’s cheap to buy these games, in the end, is it really worth it? For some who spend majority of there day on their cell, then probably they will say it’s worth it.
I have the Blackberry Torch and I have the option to download free games apps on the app store. Which is GREAT! I have a pinball game and a copter game. I can see why so many people are hooked on it. The negative side, though, is that the games will eat your battery to death. My request, is have a extra battery waiting. I take it personal while playing the pinball machine. No, I don’t have a problem. It’s a good relaxation while I wait sometimes. And it’s fun! Especially the brick breaker game…Wait, am I saying I love mobile games? Yeah, now I do. It’s free. I’m not quite sure I would ever pay for a game app. Too little reward for me. I talk &text on that phone too. Although, I have the luxury of having two phones.
In conclusion, I think mobile games are going to sky rocket no matter how my feeling about it(Good or bad). Lot’s of people are rushing to the most popular games/apps on there phone. They don’t care what the price is. I think that the developer’s should take note and enter in the race. It seems to be a lucrative market, and something that will always stay. “Sighs” Technology…..
