Yes, it’s been awwwwhhhhhiillllleeee since I posted my last blog. I’m currently taking a breather from my creations to speak to the people!! Wow, wasn’t that such a important message. From creating, learning and playing games, I learn a lot about my self. Sometimes I can procrastinate on things. But, once I have a full thought in my head I will jetisen(New word! Take that, webster!) to my handy dandy laptop and start jotting down whatever is in my hear(Or whatever left, I suppose). I also had a thought while playing Wipeout Pure on the PS3. Do people play games for the enjoyment? Or do people play this as “Serious Business”?
I can go back in forth with this blog post. I play for the enjoyment factor in gaming. The enjoyment factor is the sole reason I want to create games. I sit back on my couch with a controller, and play games until I’m bored or tired….Whichever comes first. I see a lot of people make these games all “Serious”. Like, there has to be a reason to play it. I blame Microsoft and Sony for making there point system. It takes the fun out of games! This isn’t a bash company topic, though. But, that would be a good topic, though
The reason I go back and forth on this, is now that I am truly in my way of creating games I can see the other side of it. People want a game that is fun, and that is WORTH there money. I, myself, wouldn’t want to pay for a game that isn’t fun. And I wouldn’t want to play a FPS game that isn’t serious. So, I go back in forth with games. It depends on the genre of it.
In conclusion, games are meant to be fun. It is also meant to be serious too. In a way, it’s whatever perspective you feel in that game; or whatever perspective you have in game, period. Me and you play games differently. I observe my surroundings in it, but you probably take in the objectives. Tomata tomato. At the end of the day, we gamers win….At least if it’s not a game of cubic cube, then we all are screwed….
