Yes, yes, I know….I haven’t been on here. As matter of fact, I’ve been here in short bits. Been busy with Physics(YIKES). And, I’m also getting my hands dirty with programming(Yay C#!). So give me a break? Hmmmm, I realize why you wouldn’t…..Oh well, that’s not what I came here to discuss.
Do you watch cut scenes in games? I know I do. I rarely cut off a cut scene. Never understand why people would do that, makes no sense to me. Majority of these AAA games are story based. Yes, gameplay can drive the story. But the cut scenes are what really drives the story of games. You know why your playing it, and the objective.
Some people just don’t have the patience to sit down and look at the scene and just want to skip it. We are not living in the pac man age now. Only some games doesn’t rely on cut scenes(Mainly indie). But, the rest does. You miss soooo much from the cut scenes. Maybe my love for story in games: KillZone 3, Gears of War, Halo, e.t.c…
Maybe I’m weird? I don’t know. But I do know that cut scenes is essential in video games. Their the prime reasons why gaming cost so much. Development studios want the player to have a emotional impact in the game, and cut scenes gives them that option.
